Dear Lynne:

I’m writing today to notify you that my organization, the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), is hosting a National Conference on Socialism on Nov. 13-14 in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California campus. We expect many hundreds of people to come from all over the country to attend. The PSL is a revolutionary Marxist organization that struggles for social and economic justice in the United States. As a member group of the ANSWER Coalition, we have actively supported your case and demanded your freedom.

In our Nov. 13 evening panel, we are giving our first-ever PSL “Fighters for Justice” awards to several people. We would like to honor you as an award recipient. Other recipients will include political prisoners Mumia Abu-Jamal, Leonard Peltier and the Cuban Five. Presenters will include former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark. Mr. Clark will present your award since he has worked with you so closely.

The PSL is presenting you with this award for your decades of struggle and perseverance before and now during your unjust incarceration. Your unwavering defense of the most oppressed and exploited people resonate with working-class and poor people across the country and around the world.

We recognize that you should be there with us in November to receive the award, but understand you likely will not due to the backward, unjust system that keeps you locked up without cause. We reject that system and hope that this award will help highlight the continuing struggle for your freedom.

The PSL would be honored if you agreed to accept the award and could send us a written acceptance speech for the event. We would read your acceptance to the hundreds who attend and promote it as widely as possible.

These two bills are now in Congress and need your support. Either or both bills would drastically decrease Lynne’s and other federal inmates sentences substantially.

H.R. 1475 “FEDERAL PRISON WORK INCENTIVE ACT AMENDED 2009″

CONG. DANNY DAVIS (D-IL)

This bill will restore and amend the former federal B.O.P. good time allowances. It will let all federal prisoners, except lifers, earn significant reductions to their sentences. Good time would be calculated and earned by three methods. First, base good time, earned monthly on the length of sentence. Second, earn monthly good time days by working prison jobs.
Third, allowances for performing outstanding services or duties in connection with institutional operations. In addition, part of this bill is to bring back parole to federal long term prisoners.

This bill provides early release from federal prison after serving half of the inmate’s sentence, if age  forty-five or older and never convicted of a violent crime or violent conduct in prison. PLEASE WRITE, CALL, EMAIL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS – DEMAND THEIR VOTES!
