Lynne Censored!

Lynne Stewart had been invited to participate in the David W. Mills Public Interest Visiting Mentor Program.  Once she was out in California she was contacted by the Dean of Stanford Law School and told that some of Lynne's political views were brought to her attention and that she didn't think it was appropriate for Lynne to be a mentor in their program.

Lynne Stewart has been a vigorous criminal defense attorney for a number of years and as such would have been a great asset to your students in the David W. Mills Public Interest Visiting Mentor Program.  Her personal political views should not have any barring on her advising your students about practicing law.  Not only have your students missed an opportunity to learn from a brilliant, experienced criminal defense attorney they have apparently experienced the loss of their 1st Amendment Rights under the U.S. Constitution.  The freedom of speech.
